Chemical Co-Located Sampling
For Information Regarding Phase 3 Chemical Data Gap Sampling
DOE and DTSC have been in the field working on the chemical co-located sampling effort with EPA. Since the beginning of the co-located sampling effort several documents have been prepared by CDM, DOE's contractor and approved by DTSC. DOE is committed to keeping the community informed in a timely manner of the chemical co-located effort and all other DOE-related efforts on the site. Addendum No. 7 to the Master Field Sampling Plan describes the subsurface sampling as a part of Phase 1 of the co-located soil sampling with EPA. This addendum has been approved by DTSC.
- SRE Tarp Split Sampling Procedures
As a part of the Chemical Co-located Sampling Program samples were collected in the SRE tarp area within Subarea 6. The procedures and DTSC's approval of the procedures can be found here.
- DTSC Approves DOE's Interim Screening Levels (ISLs)
Interim Screening Levels will allow review and screening of data, identifying data gaps, and planning for Phase 2/3 of chemical sampling. The approved ISLs and DTSC's approval of the ILSs can be found here and here.
Added April 17, 2012:
- DTSC approved Addendum No. 1 to the Chemical Data Gap Investigation Work Plan, Phase 3 Soil Chemical Sampling at Area IV. This addendum describes the unique characteristics of HSA 5C, includes detailed sampling rationale and maps, and includes documentation of the data gap analysis conducted for HSA 5C.

DTSC/DOE Meeting on Chemical Co-located Sampling Decisions HSA 8N, March 25, 2011
- Presentation: Co-Located Chemical Sampling Needs for HAS-8 North, presented by Mark Malinowski, DTSC and Stephanie Jennings, DOE.
- Draft SHA 8-North Sampling Location Table. This table identifies each EPA sampling location and their rationale for sampling. It also includes a column that describes the suite (primary, secondary, or additional analytes) that proposed for each co-located sampling location. EPA sample locations that they are sampling that have been de-selected for chemical co-located samples following the discretionary criteria discussed between the agencies, are noted by the strikeout function on the table.
